Fazaia Bilquis College: How a Pakistan-Based VPS Resolved Persistent Website Issues

The website kept going down. Outgoing emails were failing, and the college was facing an IP blockage issue. Its previous hosting provider had not resolved the problems, leaving staff and visitors struggling to access its online services.

Fazaia Bilquis College of Education for Women (FBCOEW), located at PAF Base Nur Khan in Rawalpindi, has been providing education and training for women since 1984. The college relies on its website and email to share information and communicate. When these services stopped working as expected, it needed a hosting setup that could support its daily operations.

A friend of the college who already hosts with Websouls suggested they talk to us.

  • What was going wrong with the previous host

  • Working out what the college needed

  • Moving the college to Websouls

  • Giving the college a clean IP

  • Looking after the server after handover

  • What changed for the college

What was Going Wrong with the Previous Host

The college was dealing with several problems at the same time. The website was unavailable to staff and visitors at times, and it loaded slowly even when it was accessible. Outgoing emails were failing, the IP address was facing blockage, and the previous provider's support had not resolved the issues to the college's satisfaction.

Each problem affected a different part of the college's online services. Website downtime restricted access to information, while failed emails disrupted communication. The IP blockage added another issue to resolve.

The college needed a hosting provider that could review the full setup instead of treating each reported problem separately.

Working Out What the College Needed

Before recommending a new server, our team reviewed the college's website workload and hosting requirements.

We looked at expected visitor traffic, CPU and RAM requirements, disk space, and email needs. We also reviewed the existing data to assess how much storage the college required.

The college needed allocated server resources for its website and related services, along with technical support for server-level issues. Based on this assessment, we recommended a Pk-based VPS sized for its requirements.

A Virtual Private Server provides allocated resources within a virtualized server environment. For the college, it offered a more suitable setup for its workload and a managed support option for ongoing server maintenance.

Moving the College to Websouls

Once the requirements had been reviewed, our technical team prepared for the migration. We transferred the college's website and required services to its new Pakistan-based VPS without charging a migration fee.

After the transfer, we checked that the website data and required services were present and working. We reviewed the DNS configuration, updated the nameservers as required, and tested website accessibility before handing the site back to the college.

These checks helped verify that the migrated setup was working before the college resumed using its online services.

Giving the College a Clean IP

The college was also facing an IP blockage issue, so we provided a clean IP address on the new VPS.

IP reputation can affect email delivery. Real-time Blackhole Lists (RBLs) contain IP addresses associated with spam or unwanted email. Some mail servers check these lists before accepting messages, and an IP with a poor reputation can lead to emails being filtered or rejected.

A clean IP helps address problems associated with the previous IP's reputation. It does not guarantee inbox delivery or prevent future blocklisting, since email delivery also depends on server configuration, sending practices, and the receiving mail server's policies.

Maintaining the Server After Handover

The work continued after migration. The college stayed with Websouls for managed VPS support, which covers server-level maintenance and troubleshooting.

The service also includes backups and an advanced server scanning solution. This gives the college ongoing support for its server environment without requiring its own team to manage every server maintenance task.

Website application issues are handled according to the service agreement, while server-level issues fall within the managed support service.

What Changed for the College

Moving to a Pakistan-based VPS resolved the college’s reported website performance and accessibility issues. With the new server environment and clean IP, the college could access its website more reliably without the previous slowness and IP blockage problems.

Client Feedback

“We are satisfied with the improved performance and accessibility after moving our services to Websouls. The migration was handled professionally, and the issues we experienced with our previous provider were resolved.”

What Made the Difference

The college's move involved more than transferring website files to a new server. Our team assessed its requirements before recommending a VPS, checked the website and services after migration, reviewed DNS settings, and provided a clean IP to address the blockage issue.

With the migration complete and managed support in place, Fazaia Bilquis College of Education for Women has a VPS setup suited to its requirements and ongoing technical support for its server environment.
